If you have never been a big fan of country music, Bramble Rose is a great record to get your feet wet. Tift Merritt is sometimes referred to as alt-country, but all I hear is classic country without all the twang. The entire album is almost perfect, an incredibly strong debut that will be hard to top. This is my favorite song on the album and is my theme song of the moment. Nick Hornby of High Fidelity fame wrote about the perfection of this particular track in his collection of short essays about his 31 favorite songs, Songbook.
