Fleming & John - Sadder Day
July 30th, 2004 by Rachelandthecity

Seriously, one of my favorite bands, albums and so terribly underrated it’s criminal. Back in the early ’90’s when I used to hang my hat in Music City, I’d see Fleming & John every chance I got at dives like Exit Inn. They haven’t updated their website in years, but I know they sometimes work on other people’s records like fellow former Nashvillian Ben Folds, John Mayer and Train. The Benmeister co-wrote and played on another great song on The Way We Are - Ugly Girl. I hear they’re still in Nashville playing house with a kid or two. I hope they get bored with that soon.

Ben Folds bought a Belmont mansion back in the summer of 02, and he recorded his latest EP series there last year. F&J still play locally, opening for BF’s show last fall, although nothing as large as the Exit/In. MR

Cute song - is that an electric saw playing in the background, or a synth?
