Ardent Sessions: What Made Milwaukee Famous

INXS - Need You Tonight

August 29th, 2004 by Rachelandthecity

Laugh if you like, but I love INXS. I remember seeing the video for Need You Tonight when I was 12 and realizing from watching Michael Hutchence exactly what sexual desire was. Not like the butterflies you get from a crush or your first kiss, but raw desire. Name one singer on the scene today that ooozes sex appeal the way Michael Hutchence did. It was this animalistic energy that made me beg my parents to let me go see them play at my very first show unchaperoned. My parents relented and that night, musically, I was truly devirginized. Later when other girls my age were giggling over The New Kids On The Block, I just smiled and patted them on their heads, as they hadn’t experienced the real thing yet.

Here’s the bad news: With the iditotic new reality show coming out trying to find them a new singer, their legacy is going to be ruined forever. Luckily, there’s still time to stop them. Please take a moment to sign this petiton and then email the link to your friends. This is the year to use your voice right?

BONUS TRACKS: DEVIL INSIDE and NEVER TEAR US APART

Count me in as being a big INXS fan. I still really love the album Welcome To Wherever You Are. I still don’t know how that wasn’t a hit.
