Kim Wilde - Kids In America
August 30th, 2004 by Rachelandthecity

Well, as long as we’re riding the eighties, new wave, synth rock trend wagon, let’s talk about Kim Wilde, the originator of the trademark faux-hawk-mullet. She’s still touring with the likes of Belinda Carlisle and Bonnie Tyler. It’s amazing the difference in shelf-life someone has in the states versus Europe. I guess since we get the opportunity to see so many more shows, we get jaded a lot faster. This is the only track by her that I ever liked, I always thought it was funny that this was her biggest hit, considering she grew up in the UK and had never been to America before it was recorded.
