Loose Joints (w/Arthur Russell) - Is it All Over My Face

August 27th, 2004 by Rachelandthecity

I love disco, especially underground disco. I have loved this song for as long as I can remember. But it was not until recently that I learned of the heavy involvement of clasically-trained cellist Arthur Russell in the insemination of dance music in the New York of the mid to late 70’s. He worked (as producer, cellist, etc… ) on a laundry list of underground classics with legends like Larry Levan, Francois Kevorkian, and of course, Loose Joints. “The World of Arthur Russell” was released this year, and it features a sizable compliment of some 12″ singles I have been searching for for years on one cd. Here’s the remastered classic “Is it All Over My Face” by Loose Joints. Enjoy…

Essential stuff. I picked up this CD months ago and still get down on it. Remember Charles Webster dropping this shite on the rooftop of the Gibson in the 45-degree windchill … deep stuff right there …
