Staying on my Netlabel artist kick - I give you Frivolous vs DJG (Dirty Jam Gigohm). These cats reside on the Netlabel Epsilonlab, and they seem to have a fair amount of fun doing the things that they do. Their conjoined 2005 EP, Slinky / XXX, is a little trip into the 50’s, with one foot still firmly planted in the century. They cut and tweak out older tunes and pump out five tracks of some very playful material. I say playful, but a strong amount of melodic emotion still comes out in each track. Deeply rythmic and a nice one to put on while beboping about the pad doing the silly things you do when nobody’s watching. And I know you do. Come on - fess up!
