Asja Auf Capri - Coutre Temps

April 22nd, 2005 by Rachelandthecity

Lately I’ve been on this sort of German kick, trying to find bands/songs that sound very Cold War. I don’t know why, maybe it’s that I’m cold inside and I feel as though my life incorporates many of the rigourous, mundane aspects of communism. SIKE! It’s just because it’s weird and I like that. The few things I’ve found have been old (not really old, from the 80s and 90s, but definitely dated): à;GRUMH and Cabaret Voltaire. Then I ran across a new band, Asja Auf Capri. They produce the blippage that I was looking for, but not the bumpage.

From what I’ve found out Asja Auf Capri is comprised of 2 people, Anja Kirschner and David Panos, based in London and they do all of this without MIDI. Anja’s vocals remind me of another new(ish) band: Glass Candy. And because I want you to shake your hips here’s a Glass Candy track from their new one: Life After Sundown.
