The Dillinger Escape Plan - Panasonic Youth

April 27th, 2005 by Rachelandthecity

Quickly, now, because my taquitos are getting cold: The Dillinger Escape Plan, a five piece wall of intricate metalcore insanity out of Jersey, formed in the mid 90’s and has since played one of the most notorious shows Memphis has seen in recent years. I still hear people talk about the aural massacre from a year or two ago, and I still kick myself for not TiVoing whatever Lifetime movie I was watching and going to see it.

Unfortunately, though, I hear the band no long does the fire breathing stunt, so we’ll see if tonight’s show lives up to past representation.

Their most recent LP, Miss Machine, was released last summer on Relapse Records whom DEP still owes an LP and two DVDs to fulfill contract obligations. They swear it won’t take them five years to get their next album out, this time around. I hope not.

Anyway, the boys play the Hi Tone tonight with The Number 12 Looks Like You, The Darkest Hour, and Heads Will Roll. $15.00 cover, doors at 8:00.
