Yukari Fresh - Napoli

May 30th, 2005 by Rachelandthecity

There doesn’t seem to be an end to the amount of uber-talented of female musicians in Japan. Yukari Fresh, the solo unit of tomboyish Yukari Takasaki, is indeed a fresh melange of lo-fi, jazz, mellow rock, house, disco, and pretty much anything else that strikes Takasaki’s fancy. Toss in a cute vocal delivery and loopy lyrics, and Yukari Fresh has all the elements of an instant cult favorite. This album, Me, flirts around with more styles than I really care to list out - glitchy rock atop techno pop with a thick candy coating. Enjoy….
