Gang Gang Dance - Before My Voice Fails

June 22nd, 2005 by Rachelandthecity

Realize that I’m not going by the track listing that WMP pulled off the CD. The Social Registry gives a more correct track listing. But really, who cares what a song is called so long as it moves you. Then again, most of the songs on God’s Money move me so maybe it is good that they have names. Moving on…

I’m relatively excited about this band. (Yep; it’s another “I haven’t heard any good music until” post. Keep reading anyway.) It’s weird because I think the last band I was excited about was Animal Collective or Out Hud and before that GoGoGo Airheart. I mean, yeah, I’ve been excited about albums from bands but for a while I haven’t been excited about a sound. Gang Gang Dance is sometimes ambient, sometimes chaotic and most of the time, well, danceable. Perhaps I’m excited about this because it’s like a mishmash of those other bands. Speaking of mash, I could definitely see some mash-ups or remixes coming out of this album and this band.

I couldn’t decide which song to post (I even narrowed it down to these two) so here’s another one for you: Egowar

You can buy the album from The Social Registry. They also have another song on the website that’s in mp3 format for all of you Mac users. I don’t think it’s as good as some on God’s Money so go ahead and buy the album.
