Yesterday I downloaded Acid Pro 5 from Sony. It’s a 30 day trial but I made two mash-ups so far. These are the first two I’ve done and it’s been entirely fun. It’s much easier than spinning and mixing beats.

The Rat Queen song is Ratatat - Seventeen Years vs. Queen - Bicycle Race. While mixing it up I chopped up the intro to the Ratatat song so in the middle of the mashup it goes “No disrespect, I can do that, for about 17 years okay, that’s how I am.” That’s probably my favorite part.

I did another song yesterday: Mr. !!! - To Be With Freedom. It’s a mash of !!! - Pardon My Freedom, Mr. Big - To Be With You, and M.I.A. - URAQT. It’s a bit rough, seeing as it was my first one, but it’s still fun. I like at the end where Mr. Big is all “Just to be the next to be” and then Nic from !!! cuts in with “Like I give a F*CK!!”

I’ll be playing these out and hopefully, if you think they’re good, you will too.
