Almost one year to the date of my original post (reposted down below) on The Go! Team’s debut album Thunder! Lightning! Strike!, a promo of the U.S. release ended up in my mailbox. It reminds me of last June, no not June 2005, but June 2004 when I was writing about a unknown band called The Bravery and then hearing them on the radio almost a year later. Ah, to be an MP3 blogger, both a gift and a curse! Although I’ve grown quite bored with The Bravery, I still love The Go! Team!

Anywho, the U.S. release date is October 4th. As far as I can tell, the only difference between the import and U.S. release is the addition of two new songs, tracks 6 and 11. You can check them out, along with my two favorite tracks Ladyflash and Get It Together and the rest of the album, by clicking on my head.

Since this album Thunder! Lightening! Strike! dropped this week, I am sure it’s going to be getting some hype in bloggerville sooner than later. The Go! Team are fun, fun, fun. This album sounds like something you might hear coming from a boombox sitting on the stoop while you watch the kids do the Double Dutch. It’s like something that might have been on Sesame Street in 1974 (A very good year btw.) It’s old school hip-hop crossed with TV theme music. To top all that off, they’re on a record label called Memphis Industries. This record hasn’t been released in the U.S. yet, but I think you can download it from Itunes.
