Best of 2006 - Jamie Randolph

December 20th, 2006 by Rachelandthecity

1.feist: “let it die” sexy girl voice, quirky production, songs in french, who could ask for more?

2.sufjan stevens: everything he’s put out, rare is the artist that dares to put out everything he/she writes giving the listener a chance to watch an artist discover themself…..brilliant!

3.beck: “the information” finally he puts it all together at once! gotta appreciate a white boy that comes up with bass lines like that.

i must interject here that i dont listen to much brand new music and im always the guy that talks about records 2 years after they’re cool, so here’s some of my all time faves:

4. hem “rabbitt songs” as far as melodic singer songwriter, this is as good as it gets. absolutely gorgeous.

5. cake “fashion nuggett” badass bass lines 101! (EDITOR’S NOTE: Jamie, I love you, but this came out in 1996!!!!)

for 2007……

on the road with new booking agent andria cline at the helm, writing for the next record, keeping my beautiful wife courtney and our darling chocolate lab miles davis happy.

Check out Jamie and me craacking each other up on this week;s Christmas PodCast….
