GOMEZ TO SUPPORT O.A.R. IN JANUARY; NEW DIGITAL EP AVAILABLE

KWELLER WILL FOLLOW CO-HEADLINING TOUR WITH EAST COAST RUN

GOMEZ and ATO Records labelmate BEN KWELLER have confirmed a month-long, co-headlining North American tour from mid-February through mid-March. The four-week run, which follows a January tour with Gomez supporting O.A.R. in Midwest and East Coast arenas, kicks off February 15 in Seattle and continues across the country through the March 11 closer in Northampton. Each artist will also perform select, separate headline dates during the co-headlining tour. Kweller will finish March with a string of solo shows along the east coast. Those dates, along with several additional co-headlining dates, will be announced in the coming weeks. See below for a complete list of tour dates.

Gomez’s latest album HOW WE OPERATE made many critics’ Best Of 2006 lists as the year drew to a close. The Wall Street Journal’s Jim Fusilli wrote, “The best rock album of the year? I’d nominate HOW WE OPERATE by Gomez, the British quintet that gets better with every disc… cleverly crafted songs and hook-rich arrangements.” In its top 10 albums list, Denver weekly Westword said, “The perfect Sunday-morning-coming-down record, ‘Operate’ is gentle and engaging.” And in his Boston Herald column, legendary songwriter, sideman and producer Al Kooper highlighted the album’s title track, saying, “Something from each Gomez album reached out and grabbed me over the years. This is easily its best track so far.”

Continuing to tour in support of his critically acclaimed eponymous third studio album, Kweller will hit the road with a three-piece band for the first time in his career, playing all the Gomez and solo dates with the group. Although the 25-year-old Texas native usually tours with a full band, the latest record showcased his multi-instrumental talent and songwriting savvy as he wrote and played every note on the record. SPIN Magazine’s four-star review hailed, “[The album is a] mini-classic of ultramelodic singer/songwriter pop,” while Alternative Press Magazine included the album on their “10 Essential Albums of 2006″ list and Harp Magazine called Kweller’s album, “…piercing, poignant and uplifting all at once.”

During a fall 2006 tour stop in San Francisco, Gomez visited Soundworks Studios to record the six-song LIVE SESSION EP now available exclusively on the iTunes Music Store. The EP comprises performances of Gomez’s recent AAA hits “How We Operate” and “See The World,” as well as re-arranged versions of longtime favorites “Get Miles,” “Rex Kramer” and “Whippin’ Piccadilly,” as well as a brand new song, “A Song For Lovers in Between the Wars,” composed and performed solo by Gomez’s Tom Gray.
