Ardent Sessions: John Paul Keith and the One Four Fives

Austin City Limits 2007 - Day One - Amy Lavere and Peter Bjorn and John

September 14th, 2007 by Rachelandthecity

You know, I look back at how I live-blogged ACL and Lollapalooza last year by myself, and this year I brought a photog with me and I think I am totally more worn out. I don’t know how I did it in 2006 - have I aged that much over one year? These after parties are gonna be the death of me. Of course, last year I wasn’t invited to as many and also there have been a lot more technical difficulties with getting online this time around. And then there was that whole fire situation that broke out just as we were trying to find a parking space that was less than $25. (Which we totally failed at doing.)

Anyway, when we finally did arrive inside the park and got our gear set up in the media area - we had just missed Amy Lavere, a lovely lady who dates my friend Paul Taylor. From what we were told later their show had a great crowd for such an early set in the day. And Amy told me that when she went over to her signing at Waterloo the fans cheered! Yay Amy! You should really check out her album Anchors & Anvils.

I did finally get to hear a little bit of Blogger Buzz Band Peter Bjorn & John after missing them at SXSW and Lollapalooza. They were fun, but it was so incredibly hot that it was really super hard to get into the set, especially from how far back we were since ACL revoked all the bloggers photo passes this year (they said it was for safety - but my theory is the print media wasn’t too thrilled with our photos being available practically instantaneously). They did finish their set with a smashing cover of “Ever Fallen in Love?” by the Buzzcocks, which kind of made my entire face being melted off totally worth it. Anyway, here are a few pics that we managed to snap:
